OVERVIEW

The Midline is the result of two organizations joining forces around a shared vision — combining expertise in industrial land redevelopment and public space design to create something Cleveland has never seen before. Together, the Site Readiness for Good Jobs Fund and LAND studio are building a corridor that serves the people, strengthens the neighborhoods, and raises the standard for what urban redevelopment can look like.

Our Team

Why we're doing this

Mission
The Midline repairs long-vacant, polluted land to create family-sustaining jobs and vibrant public spaces, transforming barriers into connections and expanding paths to economic mobility across Cleveland's near east side.
Vision
A connected and job-rich district where reinvestment strengthens neighborhoods, restores the environment, and creates enduring prosperity for residents, workers, and visitors.

Our Pillars

Family-Sustaining Jobs
Creating good, accessible employment opportunities that support economic stability and upward mobility for Cleveland residents — with workforce development programs and support systems to help people get there.
Vibrant Public Spaces
Designing welcoming, inclusive parks, trails, and open spaces that support recreation, connection, and everyday community life.
Environmental Repair
Remediating polluted land to repair historic harms, expanding tree canopy, and building with sustainability practices that leave the environment better than we found it.
Connectivity
Transforming physical and economic barriers into connections — linking Clevelanders to jobs, transit, trails, and community assets across the near east side.
Community Leadership
Ensuring near east side residents are meaningfully involved in shaping and benefiting from the project — through real participation in planning, pathways to ownership, and access to the jobs and opportunities the Midline creates.
Health & Wellbeing
Prioritizing the mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing of the people who live here — through green space, safe outdoor environments, and the kind of nature access that makes a neighborhood feel whole.
